Mamie Nakamura's retrospective exhibition ―gifts full of love―

  This is a retrospective exhibition of Mamie Nakamura, a Kutani ceramics artist who liked a free life and artworks style not infuenced by anything. Displayed are her works with original motiffs of cats and fairies.

Kenjiro Ota's retrospective exhibition

This is a retrospective exhibition of works bya famous Kutani ceramics artist Kenjiro Ota, who was a member of Japan Crafts Association and Kutani Ceramics Technology Preservation Society (a society preserving Ishikawa prefecture designated untangible cultural heritage).
When: September, 19 (Wed) ~ November, 18 (Sun)

Special Exhibition "Kutani masterpieces viewed by the Emperor and the Emperess"

 On July, 31 1985, when the present Emperor was still a Crown prince, he with his wife Michiko and princess Norinomiya visited Kutani Ceramics Museum. This exhibition will be displaying masterpieces of Kutani ceramics viewed by His magesty and Her Magesty, commemorating the last year of Heisei era.
When: September, 19 (Wed) ~ December, 2 (Sun)

Puppet theater "Arabian nights: the magic lamp and the light of tomorrow"

This a big puppet performance by professional puppet theater "Musubiza" based in Nagoya and performing all around the country. Their performances involve the audience as well, so the whole hall immences into the adventure world. This is a splendid show that will charm not only children but adults as well. You are welcome to come with all your family!
When: October, 14 (Sun) Hall open 13:00, performance starts 13:30

"A walk around the history of Kutani ceramics" at Ceramics Village

The 6th episode of "Beautiful and Good country crossinf health smart walking" going around famous places and historical sites of Nomi city will take place at Kutani Ceramics Village.
Events on this day: "The history and changes in Kutani ceramics", "Artworks viewing".
When: September, 30 (Sun) 9:00~about 11:30
Where: meeting at Kutani Ceramics Museum
Courses: A. Kutani ceramics history course 6 km, B. Sano shrine course 4 km, C. Ceramics vilage course 2 km

Consultations on childcare

 These consultations are set for guardians of Elementary and Junior high school students of Nomi city. Specialists (school councellors and clinic psychologists) will answer questions about education, children's development and other aspects of childcare. Please apply till September, 14 (Fri). First-come-first-serve basis.

Japanese classes in Nomi
Upcoming months schedule

  Nomi City holds a weekly Japanese Class aimed toward foreigners who live and work in Nomi. Teachers from the Nomi Japanese Teachers Society will teach Japanese that is useful in everyday life. Beyond just the language, there will also be opportunities to learn more about Japanese culture throughout each of the seasons.
