Time and location of garbage collection

The collection of garbage will depend on the type of garbage. Please refer to the "GOMI Calendar (garbage calendar)" for your specific area for the exact disposal location.

• Burnable garbage : Collected twice weekly (kitchen garbage, paper, bags, etc)

• Unburnable garbage : Collected once monthly (glass, metals, etc.)

• Recyclables :

• Cans, glass, bottles, plastic bags, plastic bottles : Collected twice monthly

• Plastics : Collected twice monthly

• Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, etc : Collected by organizations, student groups, etc.

• Oversize garbage : Please take to the Beautification Center (BIKA CENTER)

Returning raw waste back to the earth

Some people in Japan decompose their raw kitchen waste into compost for use in paddy fields. Subsidies are offered for purchases of these compost-making machines.
