 With the advancement of government decentralization, low-birth rates and an aging society the harsh challenges facing the socio-economy are that of enormous proportions. In light of the changing environment a new city with administration equipped to deal with the ever changing pressure is needed. The town merger planning committee’s key deliberation was to utilize the blue sea and green nature that this area is blessed with, in order to preserve our history, culture and continued support of our citizen’s success. To make a city hand in hand with the citizens where we can be proud of our town merger is our mission. Kutani Pottery, Tatsunokuchi Onsen, The Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, from large industries to specialist production this city’s variety of business is broad and extensive.
Growing up in the rich natural resources this area is surrounded in, many great personalities like the former Prime Minister Mori Yoshiro and baseball star Hideki Matsui have made their mark around the world. Blessed with ocean, mountains and rivers we strive to create an environment where people shine, an environment where we support the aspirations and dreams of our citizens and an environment where citizens are proud to live in.
As one of our forefathers once stated (former Neagari mayor Mori Shigeki), no expense should be spared when it comes to learning. In that respect we strive to create an learning environment where we create world leaders, who have the heart to understand the hardships of people.
Finally, as Nomi city is still new in its creation, to raise our city in a way that we can be proud, we request the tremendous support and cooperation needed of the citizens of Nomi City.
